J. Geils Band. J. Geils Band.

1971

It is the first album for the group, which was formed in 1967 and includes guitarist Jay Geils, bass player Danny Klein, and harmonica player Magic Dick (all of whom met at and dropped out of Worcester Polytechnic Institute), drummer Stephen Jo Bladd, keyboardist Seth Justman, and singer Peter Wolf. After moving to Cambridge, the members move to Mountfort Street in Boston. The group breaks up in 1984, except for a brief reunion tour in 1999, a few benefit concerts, and an appearance at Fenway Park in 2010. Geils formally leaves the band in 2012 and subsequently files a lawsuit against other band members using his name.
